At Snopro, Inc. we believe that it is the right of any potential buyer to make an informed decision regarding trailer products. The topics covered on the page below are meant to serve as basic guidelines, or key points to look for when shopping for your new trailer. This list is ever-expanding, so stay tuned for further updates.

After all, good trailers ain’t cheap and cheap trailers ain’t good!

EXTRUSIONS

Snopro: Through years of rigorous product testing and research, Snopro, Inc. has developed custom aluminum extrusions that add enormous strength in key stress areas, without adding unnecessary weight.

Brand “X”: Other manufacturers resort to using “stock” extrusion dies to avoid adding cost to the trailers. The result is a weaker frame design in areas where the trailer is most vulnerable to stress.

TIRES

Snopro: Enclosed Snopro and Cargopro trailers feature “D” rated tires. This ensures maximum strength, performance and payload capacity while towing. Capacities can differ by up to 400 pounds (per tire) versus inferior C-rated tires. In addition, our products feature only radial-ply tires, pre-balanced for longer tire life.

Brand “X”: Many competitive brands utilize tires with a “C” load-range rating. Although these tires may provide minimal cost benefits, the load-rating drastically effects trailer payloads and causes premature tire failure.

PLYWOOD

Snopro: Snopro’s open trailer units come standard with 5/8” plywood decking, pre-treated to protect against moisture and UV damage. This process extends the lifetime of the decking and reduces maintenance costs.

Brand “X”: Similar trailers from other manufacturers are built with 1/2” untreated plywood decking. When exposed to moisture or sunlight, this material warps and cracks easily, requiring maintenance very early in the trailer’s lifetime.

ELECTRICAL

Snopro: Snopro uses the highest quality materials and components to construct their electrical systems. From molded trailer plugs to continuous, color-coded wire harnesses, each trailer complies with NATM standards.

Brand “X”: In order to cut cost from the trailer’s electrical system, many manufacturers construct their own plugs and wire harnesses. Cheap components and multiple wire splices translate to early electrical malfunctions.

COUPLERS

Snopro: Snopro has worked closely with many manufacturers to design and develop trailer parts tailored to our exact specifications. Couplers come pre-drilled, ensuring precise mounting alignment with our trailer designs. To protect against corrosion, each of our couplers come with a protective zinc coating.

Brand “X”: Competitive brands modify components to allow compatibility with poor designs. Drilling excess holes reduces the strength of the coupler, and results in bolt locations not recommended by the manufacturer.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Snopro: At Snopro, Inc., our commitment to quality echoes through the excellence of our craftsmanship.  Receiving hands-on training and a comprehensive certification course, our workers pride themselves in delivering a quality that is second to none.

Brand “X”: In addition to cosmetic flaws, poor welding methods also translate to weakened trailer framework. Defects in the trailer’s frame often result in early maintenance fees and potential safety hazards.

WIRING

Snopro: Sometimes it’s what you can’t see that makes the difference. All enclosed Snopro and Cargopro models wiring is run through the framework, protected by a plastic conduit, or inside a specially designed wire tray. These methods provide increased protection against damage to the wire or its insulation. Additionally, our wire harnesses fully comply with NATM standard trailer color codes.

Brand “X”: Manufacturers that do not protect internal wiring run the risk of drilling or chafing through the wires or insulation. Electrical system failures cause larger problems, especially when they occur on the road.
